House Concert October 28, 2023: G2P

G2P is a trio consisting of two guitarists (Peter Zisa and Pam Beaty) and flautist (Gabriela Gimenes) who enjoy playing Latin-influenced music, from Argentina to Brazil to Cuba, with some Bach thrown in.

Gabriela Gimenes (flute), originally from São Paulo, Brazil, holds a DMA from University of North Texas, a MM from University of Central Arkansas, and a BM from Sao Paulo State University. She has played with the Orquestra Academica do Estado de São Paulo and was featured as a soloist with Sã Paulo Wind Symphony. Since moving to Portland, she has taught at Bravo Youth and performs with numerous groups throughout the Pacific Northwest. She is also an artist for Sorpo Novo Project at Yamaha Musical do Brasil and has published a flute notebook through Ricordi for Yamaha Musical do Brasil. Gabriela also serves as Chair of Youth Engagement for the National Flute Association.

Pam Beaty has an MM in Guitar Performance from the University of Cincinnati. She is passionate about Brazilian music and has traveled three times to Brazil to study music and Portuguese. Pam and Gabriela performed at this house concert series with the Brazilian choro group Choro da Alegria. Pam taught guitar at Portland Community College for over 17 years and is on the board of the Portland Guitar Society.

Peter Zisa is an acclaimed classical guitar performer who has performed across the country and abroad for over 50 years. The distinctive quality of his performances has been described by critics and fans as "poetic, moving, exciting, engaging, authentic, powerfully expressive, and musical." He is an exceptional performer with high performance standards and remarkable stylistic versatility. In 2017, Peter established Casa Della Zisa Collegium Musica as a 501(c) non-profit with the mission to bring the community together through music performance, education, and cultural exchange. The collegium has concert series held at different venues throughout Portland, as well as bringing musical events to schools, retirement centers, and community centers.
